The Dreaming

Here is the first chapter of The Dreaming
I woke with a start from my dream.
I had already jumped out of bed and had one had on my bow and the other on an arrow in the quiver. I stared at the wall on the west side of my room. My eyes shifted, and I could feel them changing to the black color that occurred only when I saw prophecies. Thats right, I said when I saw prophecies. I, unlike any other, have the uncanny ability to see things. Mostly prophecies. Sometimes I just see random images, though. Anyway, I watched with cautious anticipation, waiting for the blurry blob of nothing to turn into something. I gasped. I knew that it would only take me 3 seconds to have a arrow ready, but that just wasn't enough.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to tell you one thing.

Sometimes my dreams and sights come alive.

My Name

"What do you mean...a choice?" I was so confused.
"You know exactly what I mean,Bree. You chose to come here! You chose to leave them! You chose to fight! And now...we are chosing that you die."
It all came to me. Flashbacks. Fighting.Crying.Yelling.Screaming. Swearing. Terrible stuff.
"My name is Bree..." I said, dazed. A electric shock went threw my body. "My name...." I said, trying to fight the urge to scream. "My name...."

The Dragon of Zannecks Peak

Here's the beginning of my story.

The Dragon of Zannecks Peak

Reeve’s voice rose loud and clear above the others in Teslador’s favorite song.

“The Peak of Zannecks is where she sits

Coiled alone inside a pit

All this time she slumbers on

With need of life

With need of song

Beware the perils that near her lurk

She is needed for all her worth

The seasons change but she will always stay the same”

I, for one, could not sing. I have this wonderful high voice that would give me away to my comrades. I still can’t believe these numb nuts don’t know I’m a girl. Men are so full of themselves they don’t even pay attention to the fact that I’m obviously a girl. They believe that no woman would survive a day without their “manly protection” of us. We had just finished a full day’s march, or as I like to call it, lumbering along, whining.
“Caine! Are you up to buying me some grog tonight?” Reeve asked as he came over with the two lonely coins he had gotten with his performance. Just so you know, my name is actually Constance, but Caine is my male name.
“Sure, why not?”
“Maybe ‘cause you’re dirt poor too?”
“Touché.”
“So, do you know what battle we’re marching off to now?”
“Correction, where am I marching off to while you sneak around, trying not to get caught by General Mannering.”
“Okay then, where are you marching off to?”
“No idea.”
Finally he was quiet.
During our conversation we had been walking over to the only tavern in this small, dirty town. It was a nice tavern, with an extremely high ceiling and a big selection of liquor.
Too bad there was a bar fight inside.
And too bad I was the only one who could stop it (me=sober archer).
“In the name of Teslador, stop this now!” I shouted for dramatic effect before I shot down a banner hanging from the ceiling. This was pretty cool because it covered almost all of the drunkards and they just started to yell at each other.
“Now, who will SHUT UP, sit down on the uncrushed chairs and be the soldiers most of you are!” I had to scream before any order came to this tavern.
Then there was sudden cheering and my friends picked me up and started chanting my name.
I wish. Really there was only a drunken soldier asking for money from his buddy before falling unconscious. This was going to be a long week.

Me

I'm Yve. I'm not gothic. This is a site I'm putting up for aspiring authors. I do know that this is probably not going to take off. But I've got to try. I really want to become famous, and I hope this does the trick haha! If you have a story you want to post, email me at YveofDawn@gmail.com

The Four Elements

I stared at the wall for a while, listening to the sounds of screaming. Suddenly, the door opened and-

"Ryan!!!" Wake up! It's time to feed your stupid cat."

I rolled off the bed, and onto the floor. "Jyoti! Shut up!!!!!!I'm tired!!!!"

"She's not the only one who wants you up." A muscular figure stood in the doorway.

"Onyx!! Your back!" I screamed, throwing my arms around him.

" I would never leave you..."

"Feh!" I planted a small kiss on his cheek.

"Hey! That's no way to treat your fiance!"

I smacked him upside the head. "You wish!!!"

He smirked. "I know."

I kissed him lightly on the mouth.

"Well then. I'm gonna go hang with Dristan...Leave you two alone..." Jyoti backed off and closed the door.

Onyx swept my feet out from under me, and carried me bridal style. "Well...I hope she, and her boyfriend Dristan have fun..."

I punched his hard chest. "Let me down!!!!!!!!"

He smiled. "Not till you say yes!!!!"

I puppy-dog frowned. "But my kitty needs feeding!!!!!"

Onyx rolled his black eyes. "Earthen Fire? Feeding? Your cat is high on catnip. He won't need food for a while."

I slapped him. "Earthy would NEVER get high off of catnip...He's to smart for that!!"

Onyx dropped me on the ground. "Fine. Go check on him yourself, just don't come racing after me once you find out I'm right." He winked, and dissipated in black light.

"Go race after yourself..." I muttered, storming out of my gray room. Walking down the hallway, I find Earthy stumbling around, drunkenly.

"Onyxxx!" I call out. He appears!

"I knew it!"

"Did you feed him the catnip?" I ask.

"Maybe..."

"ONYX!"

"Sorry! I just wanted to spend time with youuu!"

"Go shove your face up your as-"

"Ryan! Coffee's ready!"

I glare at Onyx one last time, and stomp toward the huge kitchen.

He walks behind me, whining on how he never sees me.

I put my hand on Jyoti's shoulder and ask," Why don't men seem to understand the word, Shut up?"

"Because they are perverted fools." She answers, taking a sip of coffee.

"Ahh!" I giggle, as I drink down my coffee, not caring if it's black, since my taste buds are pretty much shot.

Onyx frowned and hugged me.

Yeah, we seem to have a normal life. I wish. But no. Jyoti and I are prophesized twins, who both each control 2 of the 4 elements. Don't believe me? Talk to nature. Oh right, you can't. I'm Fire and Earth, Jyoti's Air and Water.
